Groundwater in Mining

Groundwater in Mining: one day conference presented by AIG.

When: 2 May 2014.  Registration 8am. Presentations 9am to 5pm.
Where: Regal Park Motor Inn, North Adelaide SA.

The conference proposes to cover key areas for groundwater with respect to the mining and oil and gas sectors, including:

  • Groundwater modelling
  • Groundwater and non-conventional gas
  • Groundwater supply – resources, exploration and development
  • Dewatering/depressurisation
  • Groundwater regulation
  • Baseline and pre-feasibility studies

Groundwater in Mining is the inaugural AIG sponsored one day Conference with a South Australian mining and energy resources focus.

The speakers are experienced industry professionals drawn from mining and energy companies, government bodies and consulting firms.

Mining has increased in prominence in the South Australian economy over the last decade. The Conference aims to provide information exchange and awareness raising among the South Australian mining and hydrogeology communities. The Conference programme provides talks covering a wide range of groundwater fields in diverse geological and hydrogeological settings. The programme includes presentations on the principles of groundwater, interaction with the environment, assessment and investigation methodology, water supply, dewatering, regulation and compliance, artificial recharge and modelling.
